I'm thinking about buying a set of treadwright remolded tires but I'm a little unsure at this point. I was curious if anyone has had any expierece with them?
I just can't bring myself to use retreads. No matter what they call them thats what they are. Empty we are all over 7K moving down the road. Cant put my family or others at risk if one turns loose. Not to mention if we are loaded rolling above 17K. Maybe its an old way of thinking but its just my 2 cents worth.

I think the same way, afraid money is tight and glad tires are making me consider it.
No way would I do re treads. I checked out the prices and for 30 bucks more a tire you can have new. Go to tires direct or jet.com and look up Cooper AT3' or SST pro's.
I also wouldn't run re-treads -- running the camper and horse trailer we scale out just under the 7K rear axle rating.
I also will no longer run BFGs -- I had 2 sets delaminate (caught them before complete failure) and a friend who also runs right at max had 2 BFGs delaminate and destroy everything in that corner of his bed; that is 2 different times.
I second the Coopers -- less than BFGs and I think a better tire, both my friend and I run them now with no problems...
There are just some places where it is worth saving a buck, and other places where the risk doesn't warrant the savings. My $.02...
I understand money being tight. Just consider all your options. If you go this route please keep us posted.
The more research I did the more worried I got about the tires. Ended up finding a used set of general grabber a/t 2 with 80% tread left for cheap local to me. Theyll get me through until i have the money for a nice set. Glad I didn't end up going with the treadwrights.
Good deal. Just check the dates on the sidewall. There are all kinds of pull offs after Christmas with people getting new wheels and tires. I even found a brand new set once that had come right off the dealers lot.
