Looking still to get my truck up to par I wonder about the shocks. With it lifted and large tires I want it to ride good as possible. I,m not sure if shocks was replaced when it was lifted. If they were then they are not to very old, if not then they have almost 100,000 miles on them, which means shocks probably not a bad idea. Question is, with a 6 to 8 in lift would the stock shocks have been replaced. If not seems like they would be at their limit. And what shock do you guys like and are they just stock, normal size or you buy them for the lift? Thanks
Stock shocks would've and should've been replaced going that high.
Bilstein offers their 5100 series shocks (with a dual option up front) that firm up the ride and keeps the suspension under control.
I had the stock shocks on my '05 Excursion when I bought it and with 8 years and 123K on them, they. were. shot. I could easily press them down with my hand, couldn't do that with the Bilstein 5100s though.
4 Wheel parts runs a special on the whole setup every now and again, so keep an eye on their website.
