e4od interchanges
hello, have a 1990 superduty with e4od and am experiencing shift problems like no reverse at times and fluid overheating. am thinking that replacing valve body and accumulator body will solve problem since I do not feel any actual slippage of transmission with intermittent loss of 3-4 shift, and when it does go into reverse it is sudden and very solid lockup. I do have a vb and accm from a 1997 model but was reading ATSG update literature and it says in one place that the 1996 up valve bodies will not interchange but when discussing the case itself it says they do interchange. so would it just be a matter of using the right gaskets and sepparator plates for the 96up valve bodies in a 1990 case, or are there actually changes to the case passages that would make this retro fit impossible?
