Pull a stupid move need advive (trans)
I have a 96 f150 2wd with a 4.9 it came with a M5ODR2 it messed up so I swapped it for a Borg Warner T18. I want to go back to a 5 speed for gas mileage but I still want something with some a** behind it. Any advice is helpful.

the M5OD gets a bad rap. They are a pretty decent trans, they just cannot be speed shifted. The ZFs don't like it either and you wipe out syncros instead of bending shift forks
