iam a marine at camp lejuene, and as where in the feild all the time i always end up with them no matter what i do to prevent them. however when we get out of the field most of us drive to the beach scratch are legs till they bleed all over and jump in to the salt water. it always seem to work for us.

Got the little buggers for the first time here in MO after 4 years. A co-worker told me about using Gold Bond cream and also the powder if they get into your, um, stuff. Did some research and it said the chiggers fall of pretty fast but they leave the hystimine (sp?) so all you can do is find something to stop the itching and wait it out. The Gold Bond worked for me for almost a whole shift of work.
