You sure brakes lights dont go through combo switch? It has to something tells which rear lamp to flash while breaking. I believe you have a bad combo switch I keep a bunch on my shelf for the same problem.
What year is your truck. And where did you find the flasher. The flasher for my 2000 I had to remove my stereo to get to it not easy to find or see or feel for that matter. Even trying to get the cover off was a chore in its self.
had the same issue, with led 1157 on the tail lights. switched back to regular 1157 both sides and sprayed all contacts sockets with wd40. it remained with the same issue as the op mentioned above. removed my tool box off the tailgate and slammed it hard shut and every thing was back to normal... probable cause, loose contact....
Found out it was the Flasher relay, dealer charged me $270.00 to install it WTF? My own fault..didnt know where it was located, I guess it is up almost behind the radio.. Looked on ebay for the part..found the same exact part (Ford OEM) for $28.00 My *** hurts still!! I was looking in the fuse box in the truck and thought it was labeled Flasher relay? But wanted to Let you guys know whos the idiot of the week?? ME..
Book time should be about 0.3 hours on that. If their labor rate is 125/hr, that means they whacked you $232.50 for a flasher? Even if they have a 1 hour minimum labor charge, they got $145.00 for it. Something seems just plain wrong about that.
I lost flasher, blinker, turn signal on rear passenger lights...lights work, all other lights everything works. I have replaced both flashers, multi function switch, all lights are new, fuses all good...
