no brake lights 1965

1965 f100 i have taillights and turn signals on the rear but no brake lights any idea of how to fix them. thanks

There was another thread in the archives that covered this, but pull the wires off the switch and jump the 2 wires. You may have to turn the ign to "on" to see if the b/lights come on. I'm not 100% sure on that one. But anyway if the lights come on, the switch is bad. If not, you may have a blown fuse or a break in the wire feeding the switch.

If you have power coming and going from the brake light switch it could be the turn signal switch that is at fault,the power goes from the brake light switch to the turn signal switch and somewhere the connection is lost as I have replaced two turnsignal switches for lack of brake lights. Jeff
