So I've looked and looked to try to find help on this and no one had my problem. Last week I noticed my fogs stopped working. So I figured there may be a chance that they were burnt out. Hooked them straight to a battery and they work. Next I checked power at the plugs and no power. Checked the fuse and blown. The only fuse I had on me was a 25 amp fuse. Big mistake. Smoke started coming from the fuse box (palm to the forehead). Well it didn't blow the fuse but still nothing. I got power at the headlight switch and started tracing wires. From what I had read there is relay but it is inside the fuse box? Is this correct. I'm trying to pin point where the problem lies. There aren't any burnt up wires behind the fuse box and now I'm at a loss.
So I'm pretty sure its the relay and something else. Hooked a volt meter to the tan/orange wire and turned on the fog lights with key on and not getting power. So I decided to hook a hot wire to pin 2 to see if I get power at the pig tails and nothing. So I decided to ohm out the wire to see if I had a break somewhere. Ohm'ed out good. Is there another junction between the CJB and the fogs?
Did you check the ground from the plug C152 & C162 for the fog lamps?
You also have C1045. You will find this connector under the headlight
on the frame head or there about. It's the feed to the Fog Lamp harness.
S100 & S101 for the ground side
G100 for the main ground point.
Instead of a volt meter use a test lamp.
You can have 12 and almost no current flow.
The test lamp will show that with a very dim
light or no light at all. You can also use it to
check a ground by placing the clip on a + terminal
of the battery. Touch it to the ground point in the
connector and it should light. Compare that to when
you touch it to the frame and the lamp should be near
to the same brightness.
