I am working on my '78 f150 4x4. It has a 300 6 cylinder engine.
After all the long hours of getting this truck done I finally get it out on the road and it overheats. I have replaced everything in the cooling system. Some buddies said that the thermostat could be sticking so I replaced it same problem, the I took it out and ran it still overheats. I am turning to you guys for advice on what could be causing this truck to overheat outside of the cooling system? I can drive this truck for about 20 minutes at speed and then heat gauge just starts going up. any advice you may have is appreciated.
Had the timing checked while I was getting the suspension done. Mechanic said He was looking at some old books to find what the timing was. He told me he set it at 10 BTDC. I did not verify it but I will now
