Seatbelts.........................
The seatbelts in the back seat keep tightening up when driving.
They cant be working right which makes them dangerous.
Had the grandson turning red they were holding him in so tight and every bump they tighten a little more?
Anyone know if theres any way to set them up or anything?
If I pull the belt out all the way to the lock it will engage the locking mechanism. As I let it go back in I can hear it clicking. If I stop and try to pull it out the belt will not move. It will only tighten as I let it reel in. It's designed for strapping down a car seat to make sure the seat can't move.
I would check if your belts are the same. It's possible that your grandson was playing with the seatbelt pulling it out and accidentally triggered the lock.
The only solution I could think of would be to tell him not to do that if that's what is happening.
EDIT:
Ok, so after a bit of research I've found that your belts are the same as mine. It sounds like they are being put into Automatic Locking Mode as it's referred to in the Owner's Manual. Check your owners manual on page 172-173.
the way and let it retract back? Also could he
at some point be pulling it all the way out and
letting it go back. The bouncing of him in the seat
as you go over a bump will let the belt snug up
more each time if it's not in the mode where it will
stay loose till set off by a heavy bump or accident.
I made a video for you so you can see what happens.
