Here's one ...

that has been making me crazy ...

I replaced my seat belt ,because it kept trapping me in the seat while driving ...

The new one does the same thing ,,

Any thoughts ?...

(Aside from too fat from all the red beans )

Maybe you just move so quick the seatbelt always acts as it should in a crash?

mine locks up all the time anytime it wants

Seatbelts are a violations of my rights anyways.

Its a compelled performance, and offends me.
I'll CHOOSE if i want to wear my belt.

Mine locks up on bumps, smooth roads, anything
even when your parked and trying to put the thing on half the time you can't even get the f-er on.
its really annoying when you need to grab something while driving and your traped.
Sometimes gets tight enough where i can bearly unbuckle it.

I know the feeling. I have been in some of those situations. Although my truck does not do that at all. I like it that it doesn't. I hate being trapped and can't reach something.

Mine does it sometimes too, but where it bugs me is alongside the neck. I don't like those fluffy pads that go on the belts but I had to get a set. Is there a fix for this?

Ive had a few older trucks '87-'91 bodystyle and their seatbelts were perfect. you could pull the slack out and it would lock and stay there for the entire trip. worth a shot fellas. never switched them out before but they should mount the same.

For what I can tell all the safety is in the roll-up device for the belt. I would say that the spring or whatever is inside of it is worn out or catching wrong. I would bet that you need to pull the trim and inspect from there.

i hardly ever wear my seat belt, i have run into this problem before and is sometimes corrected by pulling the seat belt as far as it will go and then letting it back out. i normally only put mine on when i see the party lights in my rear view or before pulling into an chicken coupe

Seat belts are a choice of the driver.
Seat belt laws are instated due to insurance companies.
Its a big money game with state, law enforcement, and corporations.

If seat belts were not a law, i would be more willing to wear it, like i used to. But i feel unsafe driving with a seatbelt on 90% of the time.
I drive more dangerously, faster, and take more chances while I am wearing it.

Here is the problem ...

If the ball moves in any direction ,,,it lock's the belt ,,I'm sure I can mod it to make it less sensitive ,,,whether I should tell any one what I did ,,may be another matter

you'll get sued for sure! JB weld would "limit" the ball travel though it might not work very well in a crash!

The problem is my suspension ,,

Or the deplorable condition of the roads in the county...

it must be your suspension cause the roads in Muskegon are perfect!! Come on Rick...always gotta blame the road commission don't you...

Stinking roads are like driving over rail road ties spaced every 3 feet!
