My dads 2012 F350, how do you remove the bed caps on the top of the bed? I can see some plastic clips or something but are they a press together or pull apart or something else? Thanks.
The cap on my 2006 F350 is held on by aluminum clips that you can just unscrew to loosen and pull off and (I think) sticky tape (for lack of a better description) where the cap sits on the bed. I've never taken it off though.

The plastic caps are held in place by tabs on both ends. Take something slim and slip under the cap in the middle and pop off.
I can see the tabs but are they pushed together and then pull up on it? Story is my brother (really my brother) shot the very top of the bedside (the cap) with a .22 long rifle. I wanted to see if it entered the body or just the cap. We'll need to replace the cap. Thanks for all of the help.

Ok I know that there has to be a good story here.
PLEASE do tell.
Oh, it's a good story all right. We were down on our land which has three ponds on it. And in an effort to help the fish, we always shoot the turtles. Well, he braced (took a rest) on the opposite bed side looking across the bed with a scoped .22 and didn't know how close it was due to the sight picture in the scope. It was just a little too low.
Dont just pull up or pry the bed caps up. The clips will rip right off and then flop around going down the road. Look under the bed rail and you will see the clips poking through either use your hand and squeeze the two pieces together or use pliers to squeeze them together and pull up each one at a time. I do it this way and never broke one, and when your done pry the tabs apart and they will hold nice and tight again

You are so right. One thing that bothers me is I know what it at the
muzzle end of my gun before I pull the trigger. If something like that
happened when I was out shooting I think the person would be lucky
to just be walking back home after all was said and done.
Sort of like the anti-guy guy that was packing and "forgot" he had the
gun on him when he walked into a school.
Thanks guys. Yeah, my brother's a goober sometimes. He knew he was shooting across the bed of course, just didn't know the barrel was that low. And he couldn't tell in the scope. He's volunteered to buy another bed cap and I've volunteered to install it for our dad.
