need help identifying part
I'm new to the forum and a new van/motorhome owner. I have been reading on here a lot the past month. I have a 1997 E350 V10 motorhome. I was starting to troubleshooot a cylinder 6 misfire code with a lot of good info I read on here. When I removed the air intake assembly, I saw these 2 lines and I was wondering what they are and what they do.

There was this metal wire just sitting on top of those lines. It seems like the wire had come from inside one of those lines and that line is now torn/ripped.

I was wondering what I should do with this, or how to fix.

Would need to see each end of those lines/wires in question---tough to tell from a midway image.
To me they resemble the speed control (aka cruise control) pull cables typically running to the throttle.

I will take some better pictures. I do have one more picture that I am posting but it might not be enough to be helpful. One of the lines goes through the firewall on the driver side and the other end of the lines is this picture that I am posting. Also, if I get the Haynes repair manual, would this info be in there? I am looking for a book with a lot of pictures/diagrams.

Thanks for the additional photos----the line with the white lock looks more and more like a cruise control cable & housing. I'm assuming you do have cruise control yes?
That smaller wire running across the upper radiator hose----what's it attached to near the core support? It doesn't appear to connect to anything on top of the motor.
If you can show both ends of the cables in question I'm sure one of us can help----hopefully anyway.

That smaller wire that is just lying there looks like it was ripped out of that line that has the white connector.

I'm still wondering if anyone has the info about if this part is the cruise control cable? Both cables are coming from housing shown in this picture.
One of the cables goes through the firewall on the driver side. Is that the throttle cable? The other cable goes to the front of the engine on the driver side and ends in a small metal box that is under the fuse box.

Okay so your additional info and photo strongly suggests those two cables are for the throttle and CC---you have that correct. I think you're still driving this daily without any issues? If so all seems to be normal.
Whether CC works or not isn't clear unless I'm just not paying attention here.
If that loose wire is or was part of the pulling cable for CC then it can't control the throttle as intended.

The arrow in the last picture is pointing to the cruise control cable coupling, the other cable is the throttle cable connecting the accelerator pedal to the throttle body. The "housing " is just a plastic piece covering the throttle body where both the cables attach. The wire in the first picture (with the arrow pointing to the spark noise suppressor) looks as if it may have come from the area circled and could be part of the plastic encased metal shielding surrounding the speed control actuating cable, and if the cable inside has not been compromised, should not cause a problem.
