How Hard to Replace a Vent Window?

I have not had to replace the vent window on a 73-79, but I did recently have to replace on a 96 F150 and an 83 GMC.
I found it easier to just replace the entire assembly
The 96 took about 20 minutes sitting in a parking lot waiting for my wife who had gone in a store for only five minutes. Then I only had to wait another hour for her
The about the same amount of time. I can't imagine that our trucks would be that much different

The rubber on the 83 was 31 years old
The rubber is a minimal consideration because there is very minimal rubber to metal contact.
Te part that screws into the frame is metal and the rubber that the window tracks on will be good or the window will not track
