Removing Vent Window??
Evening gentlemen. Something managed to hit the driver's side vent window while driving down the road, and I'm in need of a new one. How do I go about removing said window?
I was hoping I could replace it with one off a junk yard truck...
Thanks.

I bought my truck cheap because, among other things, the driver's vent window was broken. Changing this window took all of about 20 minutes, including vacuuming up bits of broken glass from the carpet and inside the door. The vent window frame acts as the main window's front channel. It is possible to buy only the vent window and to fit it into the frame, but I didn't do that. It's just easier to replace the vent window already inside its frame.
1. Buy a replacement window and frame. I got mine from a junk yard.
2. Remove the inside door skin. If you have wind-up windows, you'll want to remove the window winder. If you have electric windows, unscrew the wire block from the switch, and disconnect them.
3. Peel back a little of the weather strip over the screw hole, and remove the screw from the edge of the door frame. (Look at the replacement vent window frame for the approximate location of that screw.)
4. Run the main window down in the door, then pull the rubber window channel seal out at the top to expose another screw. Remove this screw.
5. Remove the screw from the inside of the door holding the bottom of the window frame.
6. Carefully pull the vent window frame out of the door.
7. Transfer any rubber seals to the new frame, if needed, then fit the frame into the door, being careful to place the main window into the vent frame's channel.
8. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly.
That's what I remember off the top of my head. Get a manual for the complete instructions, because I'm sure I overlooked something. :P
