pulling our boat yesterday, 86 degrees out, a/c off, boat weighs 3600lbs, running 45-50 mph, on the flats the temps don't seem terrible
pulling a 2 mile 10% grade they got what i think of as really hot, this was when the fan came on and it puked coolant at the same time(when it pukes the fan comes on at the same time everytime) so i am just wanting to know if these temps are to hot thanks, they recovered with in 3 miles after pulling the grade
This is on my to do list for my 05. I am going to pull the rad and cac and power wash them off. I am running about 205 with a oat of 85 with the ac on. New stat did not change anything. But I do have a 5 deg Eot ect temp spread. My 03 stays right at 190. I wonder how common of problem this is with enough crap between the cac and radiator.
I forget just who it was but someone recently
had an over heating problem that was solved
when if took a look at the radiator behind the CAC.
No idea how crap could get between them like that
but he had a mess.
Maybe too many mud bogs and only washing off the CAC ???
Little off topic, but... What app is that? Are you using a bluetooth module on your OBDII port? Which one? Looks pretty snazzy...
It's Torque Pro. It's what I use. Use out whenever I tow. I have two screens set up with a total of about 30 gages I can read. It's it is pretty sweet.
To the OP, it is my opinion that your cooling its substandard. I tow a 9,000 lb TT and my coolant never gets about 220 or so. I would expect with half that load, the truck wouldn't much know it's there. Is radiator blocked pit dirty?

Sent from my leash using IB AutoGroup
A power washer will bent your fins on the rad/cac. I wouldn't use one there.
I agree, temps seem a little warm but not too bad. Point is it shouldn't be puking. Either air is getting in the system, the pressure isn't holding, or the coolant isn't moving trough the system and there are localized hot spots.
The pressure cap on a cooling system is the key to raising the boiling point of the 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. For every pound of pressure cap rating the boiling of point of the above mixture raises 3 degrees. If you had plain water in your cooling system with a 15 pound pressure cap the water would boil @ 257 degrees. If you had a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water the coolant would boil @ 265 degrees with a 15 pound cap. The boiling point would raise to 270 degrees if you had a 60% antifreeze mixture with a 15 pound cap. If you had a 70% mixture the boiling point would raise to 276 drgrees.
As you can see at the temps your registering you shouldn't have any boiling.
