Got X Codes... Shock Questions....

Got Some x codes for the front end.

Let me just say WOW!

What a difference it made in handling and ride quality

The leafs I had on there were from way back when I had the shackle level installed and man they were shot.

I was like a Rhino on rollerskates going down these terrible highways in HI.

As expected though, everything is still stiff which is good but I'd like to upgrade my shocks for ride quality.

I have heard good things about the RANCHO RS9000s.

They have the adjustable tunes on them and word is that they make a big difference when you set them to the softest setting.

Anyone have light to shed on these or suggest a different shock?

Also, I do want to replace the rear leafs with X Codes but they are about $440 for each side!

Havent done much heavy towing with the leafs I have on there but I bet they are worn out just like the fronts were.

Think I would have any better ride quality if I got the rear x codes too?

Where are you purchasing the springs? I am pretty sure the X Code springs are for snow plow package trucks up front. The rears should either be a B or A possibly a C code which came on the F450 and F550's.

Have you thought about about airbags for towing?

As far as shocks there are plenty of threads on here where the members enjoy or reccomend there Rancho 9000's. I would advise to do a search and read through those.

I have thought about airbags but I do not tow often at all. This truck is mostly my daily driver and adventure weekend without a trailer rig.

Mostly looking to improve ride quality. The back really hops around a lot right now.

Thanks for the input on the Ranchos. I'll do a thread search here soon to see what other shocks people recommend.

As Bently stated, X-codes are front springs that came on the snow plow prepped trucks.

Rear springs from Ford for our trucks have different alpha designations, such as B codes, C codes etc.
