Stock Shocks with V Codes?

I have new Bilstein F4-BE5-6208-HO on the front of my 2005 X. I found some V codes (and B Codes) at a great price, and want to put them on. Will the Bilsteins made for the stock springs work with the taller springs?

Sorry for being a little off topic but I'm also looking for V/B codes. How did you verify what you got are V/B codes? I've read the that numbers on the springs vary and aren't reliable.

About the shocks, I'm pretty sure I've read that Bilstein F250 front shocks work (they are longer) and Bilstein Excursion rear shocks work with the V/B code swap. Are you doing the famous B code mod?

Here's the link that I read about regarding the Bilsteins. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-finished.html

Thanks for the affirmative Stewart, I was afraid new(r) front shocks would be mandatory. The V's I found had the Ford part sticker on them, the 250 must have been rebuilt. The B's were confirmed on the door pillar sticker of the 350 they were pulled from. I studied most of the threads on the upgrade. I don't want any taller than I have to, to improve handling. I want balanced height front to rear, so I don't think I want modded B's. I am hoping to still fit under the carport with my modified roof rack.

Mandatory? No. Recommended? Yes.

Remember, most people replace their shocks when they do the spring swap too. So because of the resultant lift, the F250 front shocks are more ideal than the Excursion shocks.

Thanks! Good luck with your upgrade. So the pillar sticker had something that specifically mentioned B codes or was it part of the VIN or?

I think the mod on the rear B springs helps to make sure the front doesn't end up higher than then the back. That's the main reason I will do the mod once I find some springs. For some reason, people and businesses on Craigslist never return your email or call! Why bother placing the add?

wrxin: there is a certification label on the drivers door that acts as a build sheet for the vehicle. In the 3rd post of the thread below:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...r-and-faq.html

deciphers the codes and the different springs that could be used. Of course, that will tell you what came with the truck when it was built, not that anyone would ever want to change from stock....

Agree with Stewart

Recommended but not necessary

Im running modded X codes with stock length shocks and so far no signs of over extension

Thank you James. I did not think I would luck out with V's and B's I could afford right away, and went ahead with the shocks prior to my education on different Bilstein applications.
