Upgrade suggestions????

I own a 2010 4WD 5.4L FX4 and looking to keep upgrading. I already have a K&N cold air intake, JBA Short tube headers, Hi-Flow cats, Magna flow exhaust and a bully dog tuner. IM ready to order a super charger as well. Which one is better Edelbrock or Procharger. both are coming with the tuner. After the supercharger are there any other upgrades i can do for horsepower? not worried about $$$$$

I haven't used either of them because they are out of my budget...do any of the websites that sell them have any reviews? That's where I would start looking.

Good luck

If money is not an issue then why not just go diesel? It is much easier to make big power.

Subscribing... how much hp does a 5.4 truck make with a supercharger? I know a guy at work has an 07(?) Mustang GT500 and he claims it makes 660+ to the wheels, says it dyno'ed at that. Not sure I believe him, but I *think* the Mustangs have 4V heads while the trucks might have 3V? And welcome to FTE!

I wouldn't buy either of those for your truck. My blowers of choice would be whipple. Big power, low heat, loads of torque.

its not a matter of which is better as they are different design. One is positive displacement an the other is cyntrifical. so the question is where and when do you want your power?

Also with a 4 x 4 the positive displacement blower will make you relocate your oil filter (im not a big fan of that). I'd bet you would break the front 4x4 components if you stomp on the gas frequently under load with a blower in 4x4.

the transmission is strong enough it's everything else you have to upgrade too.

to get more power out of a supercharger all you do is decrease the pully on the supercharger and increase the crank pully size. caution the extra boost can break you motor real easy . with more boost you need more fuel so larger injectors and fuel pump would be needed along with a new dyno tune

Thanks for the input, i ended up with the Edelbrock supercharger. its pretty good thus far just a matter of breaking it in. It is a 3V and im getting upwards of 500HP with the upgrades at the moment. I just need to get it dynoed

I can tell you are new at this, that's okay. the edelbrock supercharger is a SCREW type supercharger. the 3V is your engine heads you already had three valves per cylinder without a superchager. Also there's no breaking in period. all you need is a tune.
