Lots of 5.4 questions...need some answers.

I have an 04' F250 Superduty 5.4.
Alright I am thinking about buying these headers first off...anybody bought them? They worth a crap? And my truck doesnt have EGR, so I just block that port off I guess or do they make headers without the bungs?

Also does anybody have a Bully Dog Triple Dog in their truck? Opinions on tuners. Sct only makes a flash tuner for my model truck....would like an in cab moniter is the only reason I am thinking about the bully dog.

I have a K&N cold air that whistles sometimes...pissing me off...whats the deal? Anybody else run into this?

And other ideas on ways to improve gas mileage. I am getting 15.0mpg religiously now...but thats why I am hoping a tuner and headers may help a tad. Also thinking about underdrive pullys and an eletric fan. Would love to Supercharge it and put in some better cams and injectors, but its not the racecar..my Mustang is!! LOL I just like tweakin things...stock sucks!! lol

So far the mods are a K&N cold air intake, Magnaflow exhaust, and E3 plugs (if you dont have em...get em...worth a mile to the gallon or better!! NO LIE!!)

What about Royal purple fluids?? They always brag about them on Gearz and Horsepower and all them shows...anything to be had there?

No opinions?? I work at a Dodge dealership...dont make me sell this for a Cummins. Whats some good mods? Anybody make long tube headers for this thing??

My truck...in need of a supercharger, or a badazz Windsor motor swap (hey maybe I will just drop the mustangs windsor in this....and build a 427 stroker for the stang?? lol)

how much money you willing to spend? i can't swear to this, but look in to the possibility of commonalities in your 5.4 and the ones offered in the gt500 and gt supercar, same basic bottom end when it comes to dispacement etc. you'll have to do some research on the difference in heads. i know the 5.4 and 4.6 2v have swaps for changing intake manifolds so i'm sure there are options for the 3v's. different changes that can pick you up some power and mpg's are the bigger throttle body and plenum, cop systems, underdrive pulleys etc.

Just put the stroker 427 in the truck, you will have as much fun as if it was in the 'stang.

Check out this FTE member's site. He put on JBA headers on his 2004 F250 5.4.

Absolutely nothing from the top end of those engines will work on a 2V 5.4L.

I'm in love with my Edge Evolution programmer. It seemed liked I dropped a different engine in and only takes about 20 minutes to install if you really take your time. Plus it looks factory but gives you all the monitoring information you would ever need. The only downsides are 1. You can only monitor 4 different parameters on the screen at any one time (it can't safely be changed while driving) and 2. You have to turn off the engine to change from Economy to Towing or Extreme modes. Nice thing is new tunes can be e-mailed to you and updated on the removeable pod in a couple of minutes. So as you add new parts that change how you want the engine tuned, it can be updated quickly (but at about $30.00 a pop so do as many changes at once as you can)
