performance

Hey I have a '99 f-150 4x4 5.4 v-8. It has a 100,000 miles and I've started looking at maybe geting something to improve performance.I just feel it has lost some of its ummph. I guess I'm just looking for some ideas.I'm nw to this site so I'd apreciate any suggestions.

I've looked at the Diablo Predator and I just was looking for input. Is there something more ecomnomic or better.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also my truck is stock but would like to add some more hp or ummph that it had back in the earlier mile era.

As far as bolt-ons go, the ever important FIPK to start, then perhaps a MAF and throttle body, then headers and good dual exhaust. The spendiest part is the exhuast and headers... they could run over $2000.

The tuners work well and will be necessary to gain the optimum performance from each item. You'll really need the tuner if you go one step further: a forced induction set-up, heads, or both. The current ECU program won't handle it and will need a re-write.

The bolts-ons are comparitively cheap when you look at the price for a set of built heads or a supercharger. These can price out at $4500. However the gains in performance are immense with the power adders. The bolt ons give a few extra ponies.

Hope that helps.
