Check engine light under load
Hi all. I am hoping someone can give me some sense of direction as to my problem. I have a '93 F-150, 4.9, manual tranny. Granted, this die-hard truck has spent most of it's life with an equipment trailer behind it and has an estimated 300,000 miles on it. For the past month or so, whenever I go up a hill in a high gear or accelerate more strongly than a cruise (at speed), the check engine light will pop on for 15 seconds or so, or within a few seconds after I let up on the throttle. The way it runs seems unaffected by this although it's lack of power nowadays I feel are strongly affected by it's strainuous life prior to my owning it. Thanks in advance for any assistance/suggestions y'all may be able to lend my way. -Alan-
