How do i get my tailgate to work in my 88 bronco. I saw the wires were all ripped and corroded where the goes in between the gate and body. I tested for power which they had but i cant get the window motor to work. The motor is good but when i plug it in to the harness i get nothing. And all the little tabs for the heated window strips whatever glue holds them on how do i get them to stick back on or will supper glue work fine for those
Did you make sure the gate is all the way shut tight, making contact with the switch?
Window only works when gate is closed, switch prevents it from moving gate open.
If the gate latches loosely when closed it can be enough to prevent window from moving, not contacting switch fully. Quick test see if that is the problem, push and hold gate closed tightly and while doing so turn key see if window moves.
If so adjust gates latch position or adjust the switch whichever is appropriate.
If not holding gate closed tight does not allow window to move with key, test the switch see if it is the source of the problem.
Yes when the get is shut it moves a little bit not much. So that would be enough. How do you adjust the latches. And the key actually makes it go up and down. I did not know that i thought it just locked the gate. Im new to broncos this truck has been sitting for 5 yrs. ill have to try those tricks. Thanks that helps a bit.
