Hello all,
I need a little help trying to cypher this check engine light. I got a 96 F150 with 4.9L 5 speed. Got a check engine light a week ago so had the kind folks at Auto Zone scan it for me. Came up with P0135, P0141 and P0155 codes (all 3 O2 sensors). Spent the $150, changed the sensors, cleared codes and lo and behold 2 days later the light came back. Went back and they cleared the codes again. You guessed it, couple of days later the light is back on but this time the engine will intermittently run rough (almost like running on only 3 cylinders) but will smooth out if I push in clutch and rev it up some.
Went out and bought a scanner today and the same 3 codes are back. I find it hard to believe that I got 3 bum sensors so I sure hope someone out there might have some good gouge to point my troubleshootin efforts towards.
Thanks,
Ozzie
My truck is a 93 f150 4.9 and it was doing what yours is doing and I had recieved a recall from FORD and was for the fuel press/reg. and that service was done and a new fuel filter was put on and it was very dirty. The truck runs with new power. and fuel mileage is up.
check it out. I think this is your problem also. GOOD LUCK.
HANS.
Thanks for the info Hans,
Threw on the fuel pressure tester and I read 52 PSI with key on and 48 with engine running so it ain't the regulator or filter. Anybody else got any ideas? I got the whole weekend and alot of liquid refreshments to try and cypher this critter. Need to get er fixed soon cuz the war department wants her Expy back!
Thanks
Gunner
