Im just wondering if that's normal that this new tach doesn't go to Zero when the truck is off? I turn the key to the on position and it goes to Zero. But take the key out and it goes back to this.... My other didn't do that and I just swapped them out because I wanted one that I could change the bulb in so it glows blue like all my other gauges.
Well it was like that in the box too from the day I got it like 6 months ago. And they are zip tied to the wiring harness if that's what you meant. Seems to work fine once the key is over or the truck is on.
Sorry, when I said "tied", I meant "electrically connected." I should have been more clear.
If it was like that out of the box with nothing connected, it's probably not hurting anything. My concern was that the tach was somehow getting back-powered with the truck OFF, but if you say it was like that out of the box before you installed it, then I doubt it. You can double check with a voltmeter if you like. It seems like a benign defect though, meaning there is still technically something wrong with it. It may actually be off too.
