Hooking up my Tachometer

I'm hoping someone here can help me out...
I picked up an original tachometer for my 66 merc, but need some advice on how to hook it up!

I'm having the same problem w/my tach. Well, not exactly the same but..Have Stewart Warner tach and a standard/CDI ignition box. Tach works fine with box switched to standard, but is all over the place when switched to CDI. Any ideas? Thanks Randy
