Canopy Compatibility

Okay so first, yes I'm going to go measure my own bed, but; does anyone know if this canopy would fit my '72 F250 long bed? In terms of sitting right and whatnot. If not it's okay, I'm just checking everywhere I can to be certain this would fit my rig

Ford Ranger Canopy

Thank you!

It'll fit.. inside the bed as cargo.

It fits a Ranger... as in mini-truck

A Bump long bed can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood btwn the wheel tubs with the tailgate up.... 8 ft x 12 inches = 96 inches. It's gonna be short.

The canopy dimensions are posted in the ad... the 4x8 plywood fit is a general rule of truck because these are work trucks and designed to accommodate sheet goods.

Yeah, the pics in the ad could have been taken from a farther distance.

Seems like a good deal for only $70.

Yep I saw those, what I meant was your own mentioning of the 96" of the bed length, which I'll go by now. I measured my bed from one stake hole to the other and got about that amount (if I went from the front to the edge of the closed tailgate, it'd be over 96).

I've always wanted one of these or something like it but looks like this particular one doesn't fit past the 80's...anywhere I can go and look at selections of this type of aluminum shell?

They will fit 67-98 8 ft beds perfectly (-96 F-150's, and -98 F-250/350's). In fact my dad has the old aluminum canopy from my old 72 F-100 long bed on his 94 F-150 and it fits perfectly. And IIRC, the 73-98 beds use the same bed floor metal stamping.

I had a guy wanting to buy my old 8' c/o camper camper about 8yrs ago and he said it was not an 8' bed on this f150 so that's what based my answer on.
So, I sand corrected...

The place I got my topper from said it was off a Ch*vy. No idea what year, but I think it looks pretty good for $100. Fits pretty good, too.
It's in my sig pic.

I tried a Chevy one on mine and it didn't fit right. Too short and narrow, the Ford ones tend to be wider, taller and longer.
I have run the same cap on an 80s, 90s and 69 bed and it fit all the same. One for an SD or 97+ F150 will not fit.
