Has anyone seen bedrail and tailgate covers for a 66 styleside shortbed? I've tried many different types and none seem to fit. I'm almost at the point of buying the "universal" set and making them fit. Thought I'd see if anyone else had discovered a source for something that would fit or be made to fit.
I have mystery bed side rails on my '66. They look like side rails from a early '60s wagon roof rack, but are not. They seem to be made for the short bed and were made as truck bed rails. You may want to find an older Ford wagon with the roof rack, take off the side rails, and shorten to fit. Alot of people did this in the "old days" before the glut of aftermarket stuff took over! This will give your truck that '60s look, if this is what you are after!
Thanks -- but what I was looking for was the actual covers for the tops of the bed sides and tailgate that fit the contours of the bed, not the aftermarket bed rails -- sorry for the confusion.

Bill, Not much help here but I'm looking for the same rails. I'll keep looking and keep you posted. Good luck. Barry
I also looked high and low for the bed rail caps for my 66.
Finally,I saw a diamond plate tailgate cap for a 80-90 Dodge
truck on sale locally at a place that was going out of business. It was real cheap($13),so I bought it thinking that I'll make it fit.
Well guess what, It fit almost perfect.Just about half inch short
on each end.Don't know if the bed rail caps from a Dodge would fit or not.
