Ok Guys I found out my neighbor has a 1990 4x4 bronco tucked away not sure of mileage not to worried it will not be a daily driver. I was told it had an e40d in it but I'm not sure.
I need to know please:
Approx. Value: Its rough but If I can throw a tranny in it and take it out to play it will save my crew cab some scratches.
I have a 73 t-bird with a 460 c6 and 9inch trans that runs I am trying to trade him.
How can I tell if it is a 5.0 or 5.8 and how can I tell the difference between the e4od and aode trans.
He also has a 4.6 out of a mustang sitting there i'm going snag just to put in my collection of crap be cause its cheap complete intake to pan. for 100.00
At least by 1994, the upper intake has the engine displacement proudly cast into it, real easy to see. I know they did that starting many years earlier on car 5.0s.
I didn't think the AOD-E ever made it into Broncos.
The all-mechanical AOD did --> no overdrive lockout switch on the end of the shift stalk, and the TV (Throttle Valve) cable from throttle down to the side of the trans.
The E4OD is electrically shifted --> has OD lockout switch on end of trans shifter stalk, no TV cable. The E4OD is a much more massive trans than the AOD.
I must have bumped my head this morning. I know how to tell if it has the e4od all the damn trucks I have been around lately have them. I know the mustangs had the 5.0 on them want sure about the trucks and boncos thanks for the info
Just glancing through CL for Ventura and San Diego I'd say the Bronco's worth $2200 max depending on condition. You might be better off searching CL for the location closest to you and seeing if anyone is willing to trade.
