E4od Trans 1990 Help

How Can I Identify A E40d Trans In Another Vehichle.mine Is A Jasper Trans And Has No Tags And Will A Aod Trans Work Help Me Thanks I Have A 5.8 L 351 1990..

The E4OD is huge compared to any of the other autos used in the F-series and Bronco. It also has no separate bellhousing. The bellhousing is cast as part of the trans. case. The AOD will bolt up but you will need the TV cable setup for shift control and (even though I'm gonna get arguements) you really should swap the computers because the ECA for trucks equipped with an E4OD while they will still run the engine, they will operate in "limp mode" which limits the performance parameters available to the system.

You will also need to change driveshafts. And the geometry on the front suspension will not match the front driveshaft. I dont know if this is a major problem.
