water pump 911
what in he$$ is that little hole in the casting under the impeller shaft and why is it leaking. I've got to get this fixed today. yesterday I put the new gasket on the water pump and it leaked when I reinstalled it. so I took it back off, new gasket, sealer, put it back on, let it cure overnight, filled it up and this weird hole is just pouring out water. do I need a new pump?
edit; just figured out it's the weep hole for the shaft seal, on my way to the parts store have a new pump waiting for me

That hole is known commonly as the weep hole, that allows the coolant that seeps by the seal to drain from the housing. Last time I did mine I had to swap it in a parking lot, nice thing is you don't have to pull the rad hoses. just make sure you put rtv on the bolt threads and make sure the top 2 center bolts go back in the same holes, any other bolts will contact the injection pump drive gear.
