Opinion on replacment shocks

I have an 84 f150 with the 300-6. Its time to replace the old warn out shocks. I use the truck to haul alot of wood and scrap. I would like some opinions on replacment shocks. I was looking at the monroe sensa track shocks that help with heavy loads ( the shocks with the springs) for the back and a regular set of sensa tracks for the front.

I put Sensatrac's on Dad's truck and love them. I did quite a bit of research, including talking with a tech at Monroe, and they were the hands-down pick.

I replaced all 4 on my 86 Lariat. If you can wait Monroe does a promo in October. It's called Rocktober savings event I think? You get 4 for the price of 3 at purchase (No mail in rebate crap). I missed that deal, but found an online coupon code for $50 off $100 purchase @ Advance auto & got all 4 for the price of 2 plus tax. I got Monroe Sensa-Tracs. Saved on shipping & sent them to my local store. Advance does not offer this deal anymore. Best I've seen lately is $30 off $100 & $50 off $125 before tax @ Dealnews.com. Never tried it before, but did all 4 myself in about an hour. You won't be disappointed with the ride upgrade. Good luck

I have seen that promotion before and I was wondering when they was going to run it again. Last time I didn't have the green backs for it but now I've saved up!

My F250 has had Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks on it since 3 months before I was born. I found the receipts for them in the glove box. They've been on there for 17 years and 11 months as of today, and have about 110,000 miles on them. The body roll is pretty much non existent with these and they ride pretty well and handle weight very well. I'd highly recommend them.

No more bouncing all over the road trying to keep the truck in my own lane.
Last week I replaced all 4 shocks with Monroe Sensa-Tracs as well,
and and the difference in the ride and handling is like day and night.
Thanks Gary.

I will never buy another Monroe/Rancho/Tenneco product again. I've used them on many vehicles over the years but last time I had a problem with a defective shock breaking mounts. Tenneco would would not stand behind their product and gave me the runaround trying to run the warranty and satisfaction guarantee period out. Then in the end when I sent them back they shorted me some money on the refund. Never again. As much as it pains me to refer you to the site run by crooked thugs, have a look at my post over at Oilburners: Broken shock mount, anyone have this happen? | Diesel Truck Forum - Oilburners.net

I bought a set of Bilstein shocks and couldn't be happier with them.

Glad you like them, Mookie. I like the ones I've put on two different vehicles. As for Monroe warranty, as Bill Vose/85lebaronT2 for his story.
