One of the darn slip coupling would not release. We had the correct tool and the first one come out in a few minutes, the second fitting was a struggle, after 20 minutes no progress. So we pulled the special tool out and put some Triflow (Teflon in oil) lubricant and it slipped a 1/16 of an inch more and released. I expect WD 40 or similar would also work.
We followed directions we saw on a YouTube video, very nice instructions. Easy to follow
Be sure to pull the fuse, yellow 20amp, from fuse box under the hood and disconnect negative battery terminal.
Thanks for all the great advice from all of the other members, you have helped me many times.
So it is my turn to give back.

Reason: typos
Ford manual says to bleed pressure at shrader valve on fuel rail, but much easier, for me and less messy and safer, is to pull fuel pump fuse in under hood box and try and start engine. Pressure will be gone in a second or two into engine. Only fuel to leak is what is inside of old filter. All told a 4 minute job tops.
