Hmmm, I've been having some issues, and a buddy of mine who works for a Ford dealer says this is probably my issue. I'm outside warranty in any event. Maybe I'll have to fix it.
Funny thing is, I only notice this in the afternoons when I'm leaving work, and backing out of my parking space. Never in the morning. Not sure what that's about.
Yes it is a 2011 with 25k miles. the $600 estimate was mentioned is another thread. I haven't been to the dealer yet about it. Any suggestions?
Hi f150eco2011,
Your best next step will be to make an appointment at your dealership so they can take a look. Once you've received a diagnosis, I'll be able to check out ways to help.

Hi seventyseven250,
I see that you're located in Canada. Don't hesitate to contact my Canadian colleagues on the forum, FordServiceCA, if you need any assistance. Here's a link to their profile: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/member.php?u=708828
I've checked recalls and TSBs and no mention. I may consider filing a formal complaint.
Unfortunately this is the only way to get Ford to own up to a poorly designed part. They are not properly weather sealed and located right above the driver front wheel. I've only got 36500 on my '11 and I'm also experiencing issues with the vacuum pump. My inept dealership tells me the high pitched squeal noise is "normal." I won't be taking my vehicle back there for service.

Hi jntibs,
If you need help finding alternative dealerships in your area, you can get a list of options by entering your ZIP code here: Locate a Dealer Search | Official Site of Ford Vehicles | Ford.com Let me know if you decide to get a second opinion and I'll escalate you to your regional customer service manager.

Thanks for the offer, but unless Ford is willing to replace the part on their dime, it's a waste of time for me to go back to a dealer. I'm out of the b2b warranty, as my truck was in service 41 months when I had the failing pump looked at originally.
