Did Ford make foldout windshields for the 1940 and up cabs? I ask because I thought I saw something like it on one of the WWII movies that were everywhere recently.
I do know that the previous years ('39 and back) had this option because they were one-piece flat windshields and the '40+ had two-piece split windshields, which would have made it more difficult to engineer a foldout.
I just figured I'd ask.
'38 and '39 had 2 piece angled windshields that opened outwards. I rebuilt the frame on my '38 tonner once. I don't think it was an option though. AND, my '37 1 1/2 ton has the same 2 piece opener now that I think about it. You have to go back to '36 to be one piece of flat glass. Hope this helps. Never seen an opener of a '46-'47.
Technically a fold out windshield was an option at least in 1940, but I have never even seen a picture of a truck with one, other than military trucks.
