The closed throttle TPS output is valid between 0.6-1.0 volts. You will gain nothing by nudging the TPS as you described. If the code goes away then there is something else amiss here.

Use the SIG GND wire at the TPS plug to check the TP wire.
I was just going by subfords post, I will know for sure this weekend, I am taking all our toys up to our property in the mountains, 4 atvs, a golf cart, and a barbie jeep , on our 20 foot flatbed. It should be enough of a workout to test things.

In addition to the TP reseat, other non-EEC possibilities:

idle/throttle stop adj
linkage binding ---may account for the flat spots found on all four TPSs
