80-86 Instrument Panel
When it came time for me to upgrade to a woodgrain style dash (I like the look) I purchased a nice one off of ebay (along with a woodgrain radio bezel and "no cruise" steering wheel pad) and it all went right into place where my original black dash bezel was. I had no trouble at all with the swap.
The "pocket" in the bezel is the same for all trucks and it is left in intact with the dealer A/C switches installed. The plate mounts to the front of the pocket and it has the two switches mounted to it. All very simple and interchangeable.
The two A/C vents in the bezel hook to the air ducting hoses (which come off of the A/C box from the passenger side) easily. I like to use a long tie strap on each hose to keep them from coming loose.
Behind the passenger panel (that contains the other two A/C vents) is the big plastic A/C box where all of the cold air circulates around and then on through the four vents.
When I restored my pick-up I yanked the entire dash and did a color change and then reinstalled it all back. Here are some pics of what my F-100 dash looks like now.

I found out that the dash vents are black with no trim, so what I thought about doing was simply getting some chrome paint and brushing it on the edge of the vents it will give it a dull aged chrome look similar to the passengerside.
Only thing is mine doesnt have a pocket anymore, the pocket was either completly removed or was never there. The panel I have doesnt say ford anywheres on it like yours. So I might have to do some investigating before I buy a new bezel to see if I can make it work.
BTW - mine looks exactly like the one in the pic posted on page 1 of this thread, the E-spay pic?
NW Ohio - make me a decent offer + shipping?

I was also curious if there was any differences between the dealer and factory vents. I thought about popping my dealer vents out of the dealer bezel trim pieces and use reproduction factory vents but I found out from a previous poster on here that the factory vents are larger than the dealer ones.
