column collar broke
1985 f150 3speed on the tree.
column collar broke: Where the shiftier sets inside of.
So i have not found this peace at junk yards, not on ebay, not at parts stores, not at the dealership, or on LCM.com. i have found the column coller for an automatic trans not a manual 3 speed though. is it the same thing? or do i need to get the 2 peaces and send it to a machine shop and have them make me a new one?

Pretty much out of luck. That part has been obsolete for years, and all the NOS units have pretty much been sold. It's *possible* there's a few gathering dust on a small-town dealership's parts racks, but good luck finding it.
The 3 on the tree wasn't very common in this body style, and pretty much ended during the 80-86 period.
No one reproduces these as far as I know.
We used to get 2-3 threads like this per month asking where that collar can be bought, but even this is becoming less frequent.
About the only hope you have, is converting to a floor shift, or swapping in a different trans that already has a floor mounted shifter.

If you read it, you'll see I was going to make a HOWTO out of it or, more to the point, take *his* HOWTO and put it into the subforum containing them.
But he never wrote it nor provided any pictures, so I never went to the work of making it all pretty and putting it into the subforum.
But it's in the archives, one just needs to use the correct search terms and do some reading...
