Ed I have a silly though. What about worn pins?
Not bent but ones that are just a bit smaller or a
socket that has stretched a bit and when it gets hot
is expands more and breaks the contact.

To test that you would need a tool like this one with
the right pin and socket sets. Then you need to know
what the tension needs to be set to.

That one in the photo is fairly beat up.

I've never seen worn pins on a FICM before - it just takes too much to wear on them. Of course, I *have* seen worn FICM plugs from harnesses, but that is mostly on our test bench harnesses that have seen way more use than the typical plug would of course EVER see.

I like the idea, though - at least it would be a reason for a module to work just great in one truck and either not start or stall out on another (even with the same model year and software).

We're up to maybe five cases of this at this point.

Kudos for thinking out of the box!

The one cause that I can think of that might explain that is
someone used a meter to probe the plug and opened the
contact up with it. Avation back ground is showing a bit maybe.
But when you need to see what is on a plug you do a back probe
or a breakout box with the correct plug for what you testing.
That way there is no risk to the connector you testing at. It happens
way to often and that is the reason for that testing tool.

I am having same issues, intermittent injector chatter, and it will only crank when their is chatter. All while i have voltage at relays and fuses, 48 volts on 1st screw under ficm cover both koeo and while cranking.

Looking to get in contact with the op

I'm having a similar issue with my truck. Just trying to see what the op did to resolve the issue.
