So I recently bought AE for my Excursion woes and quickly decided that my 17" laptop was way to big and heavy to be sitting on the console while I drive around. So I started thinking of ways to get AE onto my tablet. After quit a bit of trial and error I got it working .

AE on Android
This is done with microsofts RD Client App for Android and Virtual Wifi Router v3 for windows 7 on my laptop. Ad hoc does't work for Android so you have to make a wifi hotspot. This is not using the internets just my wifi adapter in my HP laptop. the Virtual Wifi Router program comes with spamware but you have the option to not install it (like java updates does) so watch out for that. You can also use a program called connectify-me but they want you to pay and it does the same thing.
AE works great but has a few bugs one of which you can see in the photo above with the missing tab text. the other is power balance wont initiate every time.
I thought you had ported AE to Android. This is just a remote desktop app...
What version Andriod? My phone runs JB 4.1.2 and my tablet runs Kitkat 4.4 and both supports ad hoc connections.
I'm running Cyanomodgen on my tablet and a un rooted Galaxy S4 phone but neither one can even see my Win7 adhoc wifi so I had to use the Virtual Wifi Router. Keep in mind this is still a direct wifi connection. No 3G or internet connection involved so this will work any where.
One other thing you guys might find of interest is the fact, that the Power Balance test only shows 7 out of 8 (see picture above) cylinders. I called AE to ask them about this and they said thanks for pointing this out. Cylinder #8 gets skipped. It's a rotten little cylinder (mines dead) so I don't blame them.
Or, you can just get a slate, used ones like the Samsung Series 7 and Asuss EEESlate are less than the laptop you would have to RDP into. When get AE, I will use my series 7 and have an excuse to upgrade to the Surface pro 3 or whatever is better.
