Does anyone have experience with the SCT economizer on the 6.0?

I have a stock 2004 F350 with 6.0. I don't need any more power, but I would like to get a couple more miles out of a gallon of fuel.

Try the 6.0 forum. I have the SCT 3015. On 'Street Tune' I've gained approx. 1 mpg when going easy on the skinny pedal.

SCT devices are the best for 6.0s, with tunes from Gearhead, Innovative, etc... you will typically achieve the best MPG gain on a high HP/race tune vs. an economy tune, as long as you can keep your foot out of it...

But your ROI is a long turnaround @ 1 or 2 mpg improvement...

The two 6.0's I had tuned with SCT were for fun more than any mpg savings

Thanks for the replies. About what I figured as far as any real gains. I drive around 9000 miles a year, so break ever would be over 3 years.

Less than $350 for an SCT 3015...

1000 miles a month, 15 mpg = 66.6 gallons @ $3.75 = $250
1000 miles a month, 16 mpg = 62.5 gallons @ $3.75 = $234 22 months to break even
1000 miles a month, 17 mpg = 58.8 gallons @ $3.75 = $220 12 months to break even

Obviously the more one drives the more ROI one would achieve.

I have the same truck, a 2004.
When funding is available...(DAMN WEDDING) I will be purchasing a SCT tuner from Gearhead Performance. They seem to have very good reviews and offer tunes safe for a non-studded truck. I plan on using there 8K tow tune. Go on their website they have alot of info.

I'm running the SCT 5015 and gearhead tunes. The SRL really wakes up the truck and runs great without the head studs
