SCT preloaded tunes?

My programmer showed up on the door step today. I now have a few questions that I can not find the answer to on the SCT website.

Which tune is suppose to give an increase in MPG if you do not push hard on the right pedal? Is it the Performance or the Street tune?

Locking the converter up on the 1-2 and 3-4 shift does what?

Also who wrote the tunes for FICM Repairs produstcs? Is it PHP?

PHP wrote the Ficm tunes.

Eric @ Innovative wrote the canned SCT tunes

As for MPG increase, I get the best highway MPG with stock tune or the Trans Only Tune. Performance is next then Street.

The 50hp Tow Tune is pretty good for City MPG.

I had the worst stock(last Ford strategy) that was put out. I was not impressed with 14 MPG. Best I got was 18 MPG on a road trip droning at 65 MPH.

So the performance is better than the street or I could try the tranny only tune and see results.

For straight highway, I would try the SCT Performance Tune.

It's basically and put very simply, the Performace tune is top end power, the Street is mid-range and the Tow tunes are Bottom end grunt.

Otherwise you'll likely need to get in touch with a Custom Tune writer like Matt or Vivian.

I plan on getting a custom tune from Matt to compliment the Atlas 40 FICM tune I have. But I just dropped 800.00 on myself for a Birthday gift....pretty sad I have to buy my own gift! lol

Better to buy yourself stuff you actually want than to get socks or a stupid tie.

BTW I just turned 36 last Saturday, and bought myself a new model locomotive. Damn right I'm 36 and still play with trains

I loaded the street tune this AM and didn't notice MUCH difference.

I loaded the performance rune at lunch time today and noticed a HUGE improvement. Boost hasn't gone over 26 PSI. With the factory tune I was seeing 28 PSI at WOT.

I will run this for a week and see what happens...

Most tunes are boost limited. The power gains come from injector timing and fuel.

Also, unless your using an analog boost gauge or DashBoss that references Map-Baro you'll see some whacky boost numbers at times.

With the GTX can it switch from tow to street & back? Is it limited to how many times you can go back and forth as long as it stays on the same truck?

Have you done an EGR delete? If so, is your Check Engine light on?

Wow an old thread of mine popped back up after 5 years on the shelf! Awesome! lol

SCT limits it to 5 tunes back to stock. I made friends with a shop owner that is also an SCT dealer and when my tuner went dumb after an attempted firm ware upgrade, some how that 5 lock went away.

The EGR was deleted and this truck has only set a check engine light once out of all the codes over the 8 years I have owned it. The EGR code was not one of them.

You can load the SCT canned tunes and switch off the EGR in the optional settings!

And the next question is how?
