k&n or paper filter
#2
personally, I would buy the paper and just routinely replace them. The K&N requires continual cleaning and oiling and if you forget or don't oil it enough, the mesh is large enough to allow dirt in. Just my .02 I used to run them, but then I got honest with myself about how often I would clean it and oil it and got rid of it. I don't recommend them to anyone anymore. Not my diesel buddies and not my antique auto friends.
