batteries shorted out??????

batteries shorted out??????
my 1995 f250 powerstroke has had something short out when I hooked up a new radio...so I took it out and now my batteries are fried....so I put a ohms meter on it and the passenger side battery reads open then on the driver side battery it reads closed ..... I need to know if this is normal anyone?????????????

You cannot measure a battery's resistance with a DVM, only the voltage. If you put the meter leads in the amp slot then you can measure the current draw out of the battery.

sorry I meant the battery clamps that I was measuring ohms would you still know anything about that

What are you using as a reference? I am not following your methodology.

never mind I found what the problem was ...I had the door open and the switch in the door closed causing the ohms meter to sound consistently
