I have never lost any coolent before but injectors have been out for a week, when i went out to put new injectors in there was coolent in a coper injector cup
Is there a crack, Does this hapen, and do I need to replace the cup. Or is it just leeking because the injector is out?
Thasnks Dan for getting back to me. My injectors nor cup look any thing like that, but i think i see small crack in the copper and coolent in the copper. Also i'm sher that its a pain but can the back 4 coppers be replaced while still in the truck if one of those is bad?
Never done it myself. But when i had a couple injectors out it looked like i would be able to get them out. All depends on what tools you fabricate up. The proper size tap and fabricate some sore of short stroke slide hammer or pry mechanism should be able to do it while in the truck. I have read others have had success.
Thanks dan! long story short I had bad injectors needed up pipes, guages' tuner and so forth. Ihave all that stuff redy to go in and this happens. thank God i can do this all my self with the rite tools.
Is there a special tool to nstall the coppers, and if so were can i get it?
No doubt your saving money doing yourself.. That is what I do's. I even got my recal parts here on my desk. Don't want to trust someone else doing it.
Mrs Santa promised me a DP tuner !.. Crossing fingers
Thanks Da! Idon't think i have the capabilaty to make the tool. But i hope some one chimes in here because by those instructions you have to pull the head, and i thaught there was a way to do this with out removing the head.
SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!!
And i sher hope you get the DP for santa days. I will have mine on monday, but it will just look nice until i get the copper issue figured out.

I just did this about a month ago and replaced 4 cups on the passenger side. If you are replacing all of your injectors, I would replace all 8 cups while you are there. Chances are good, if you have one cup leaking the rest will leak soon enough. You do not have to pull the head. Call Swamps diesel performance and order your the injector cups from them and they will loan you the tools to replace the cups with. If the tools are out on loan you will have to wait for awhile. Replacing the cups is no cake-walk but you can do it with patience. The two rear cups are the most difficult. Be sure to stuff something in the bottom of the old cups so when you start threading the tap in that no brass shavings fall into the cylinder. Make sure to use a flashlight and a mirror and inspect the bore for debris prior to installing the new cups. Otherwise, you will damage the new cups when you seat them. Also, don't over do it with the threadlocker sealant.
Thanks DAI532. I only have one with a crack. Do you still think i should replace them all? Non off them show any signes of problems and i have never lost any coolent.
I wonder if I should just pull the heads if iI am going to do all of the coppers?
Not your problem but this is a pain, I thought I would have this thing running tomorow night.
