My truck had some signs that points to think that the CPS es getting wrong.
After some searching I found several CPS # part:
1876736C91
1825899C93
1821720c99
Ford dealer part # F7TZ-12K073-B
I got one from Ford and one for IH with different numbers than de above (see pics below: Ford is black and IH grey). What would you put in the truck?
Thank I just finished that 15 pages thread and Im still a lilttle confused, mostly for the many different # part. I think Im going to see my original (I suppose) CPS and then decide, pretty sure I will go with the black one first. Also the air-gap and shims its a little annoying.

I tried to post this last night Jose but couldn't get on? This is what I'm running.
Glenn, thanks, its the same that Phil put in the link of his post.
As I mentioned above Im going to pull out the old one and compare with the new (gray and black) but pretty sure Im going to install the black one and see what happens.
use the black, return the gray one, and buy another black one!
As I wrote in other thread, glad to see you here.
Thanks for your comment and yes Im insalling the black one, I just pull out the old one and is very similar to the new one, same sizes everywhere; cost me some work, I almost strip (spl?) the bolt and the o-ring was almost melted with the sensor, so to pry it was difficult. This week Im going to install the new one and see how it works.
Have you considered that IH has a degree/spacing tool for cps install? It is designed to make sure it is shimmed properly to get the best readings. I personally believe that this is why some trucks run good with some sensors and bad with others.

That sounds interesting. Is this tool available to (and affordable by) mere mortals like us? I'd be curious just to see the procedure on its use. I wonder if this functionality could be programmed into AE, something like - shim the sensor, turn the engine by hand, record the resistance/signal as the reluctor notches pass the sensor, rinse, repeat...
