Question FE Serpentine?

Looking at my 3G ALT and was looking at the belt setup with the v-belt. Has anyone changed there FE from v-belts to serpentine belt? If so what was the donor rig. With just ALT and PS to deal with I'd think I should be easy to do.

When I did the 3G swap on mine, I just put the V-belt pulley on it with a shim. It was on a 300 i6 though.

The water pump is the major block to a true serpentine system, since there is not a reverse rotation one available for the FE. It may be possible to run an idler pulley on either side of the water pump to wrap the belt around it in the right direction, but I don't know if you can get enough contact to keep the belt from slipping, and if the pulleys are too small it may cause rapid wear in the belt.

It will have to be a 2 belt setup. Basic setup like the picture. No different then the current V-belt One belt for the ALT and water pump and the other for the PS. I'll have to Mic the PS shaft on the FE and the Vic to see if the are the same.

I don't know if this helps or not but if the shaft size is different you might consider adapting The Vic's CII pump to you Bump. (yes I meant that play on words) I have a friend with a Dent that some PO mounted a CII on his 360.I can only ASSUME the PO used the FE engine side pump bracket and a 78/79 Dent pump side bracket. And maybe the pressure hose off that same application. The pressure hose for a CII has a swivel connection whereas the ol' Thompson pump did not.
