New Truck!!!

Or instead of trimming your fenders, you could install a 2 or 3 inch body lift along with the suspension lift. They're cheap, and fairly easy to install.

You might clear 42s with a 8 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift, but even then it will be close. Why don't you just run with 40s instead? They'll cost less and you probably won't have the law griping about running too big of tires. Heck I plan on only running 36s or maybe 38s on my High Boy, I don't know about you but that's plenty enough tire for me. The HMMWVs I work on run 37s and those dang things are heavy! I don't mean to burst your bubble, just giving you something to think about.

pkupman82, the bad thing is that they don't make a 8" lift unless you custom build it.

then you have the problem of snapping axles like twigs and ripping the IFS mounts off the engine.

the best way is to go Dana60, and get an f-350 6" lift. you should get 8 to 10" of lift that way. with a little hacking, you could run 44s.

but I agree with you, 37s are about the most you want to run on the highway! A guy I know had 44s on a chebby. he said the climb / mud through about anything. he said the bad thing was, he just couldn't stop that good.

Well I thought this fella was talking about putting those big tires on a truck that was already converted to D60 up front. Hell no I wouldn't dream of putting 44s on a TTB frontend, it would rip apart like wet kleenex! Especially if he had the D44 HD, I hear axles and U-joints snapping already! If I were to convert to a D60 or F350 front axle, I would get a custom built set of leafs for the front to reach the desired lift. As for stopping, I plan to do a disc brake swap on the 77 for the 38s I plan to install later on.

Does it flex in the middle? If so, its a D44HD or a D50.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember the Dana 50 being available in TTB and solid axle versions.
