OH Yea Just Jumping for the Monday JoyThis is my New Request for Mondays LOL, That kinda sux Clint snow one week Hotter than a three peckerd billy goat the next
Someone dumped some pine on my driveway -- about two tons of it.
So the kid and I have been pretending to be lumberjacks.
I got the two chains for my chainsaw sharpened, but when I installed one of them, I realized that one of the gears in the saw was still stripped out. I'd forgotten to get the saw repaired after the last time I used it.
I rented a saw for the day. Got almost all of the wood made into firewood-sized rounds (missed one piece somehow).
Then it took two and a half days to clear the wood off my driveway.
Well, after a couple of e-mail exchanges, it turns out that the stripped gear isn't available from Harbor Freight. Furthermore, they aren't able to repair them.
I looked inside the casing and found out that the shaft the gear is on has bearings that appear to be pressed on at each end. I could probably pull them (or just one of them) and press it back on again later, but where to get the gear?
I know, I know... I should have got a Stihl to begin with
