Im putting a 5.8 in front of a m5r2.
doing a clutch set search at a local parts store, I notice a clutch disc /pressure plate for a 95 5.8 is $215, 11.5" disc.
or I can get an 11" clutch disc/pressure plate for a 95 4.9 for $85
its also showing the spline diameter to be a hair bit different.
makes me think I should use the 4.9 pressure plate, but im unsure if it will work, im thinking yes, but looking for assurance.
Thanks
Guess ill answer my own question, did some digging.
part number for 4.9 11" clutch is the same as the 5.0 11" clutch, 5.0s used the m5r2 transmission like the 4.9, 5.8 and 5.0 are similar other than stroke and deck height, so the clutch should work behind the 5.8.
For those wondering, the flywheel is 5.8 specific but the pressure plate mounting holes on the flywheel, are the same.
